The embryo culture of Taxus chinensis (Pilger) Rehd.and T.brevifolia Nutt. in vitro can shorten the dormancy periodwith early germinating, germination percentage is above 98% after cultured thirty days. The survival rate of the seedlings increased when the seeds were stored in low temperature, it could be increased from 49% to 70% after treated four months. The seedling′ s growth can be improved if reduce the main inorganic element content of the medium. Germination character of two Taxus L. species are similar.
